2charm have released their debut album star scum city, a nine-track record that positions the duo within a club-oriented pop framework shaped by movement, identity and late-night momentum. The release arrives alongside the video for focus track ‘girls’ and coincides with a run of sold out shows across Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.

The album introduces what the duo describe as ‘gooner pop’, a sound that blends rave structures with melodic pop instincts. Across the record, distorted percussion, bright synth lines and early-2000s influenced hooks provide the foundation, while the songwriting reflects formative experiences shaped by small town environments and wider horizons beyond them.

‘girls’ operates as the album’s centrepiece. Built around steady electronic rhythms and a repeating vocal refrain, the track leans into directness. Produced in collaboration with Ninajirachi, it reflects the duo’s interest in combining club functionality with pop clarity.

The album was created with a close circle of collaborators including Ninajirachi, 1tbsp and Simon Lam, contributing to its cohesive but varied tone. It builds on earlier singles ‘boyfriend’, ‘paris (to get you out my head)’ and ‘invisible wings’, which introduced the duo’s approach to combining personal narrative with club-oriented production.

Since emerging in 2025, 2charm have steadily expanded their reach through live appearances and touring, including performances alongside Mallrat, SG Lewis and Ninajirachi, as well as festival slots and international showcases. With star scum city, they establish a clearer sense of scope, defining the parameters of their project while leaving space for further evolution.

2charm have shows in Sydney and Melbourne coming up, before embarking on an international tour, tickets HERE.
