Track: After Taste – Mind Over Body

Paul Verhagen

After Taste have shared the video for their new track ‘Mind Over Body’, an anthem that lingers in the shadows of gothic, industrial and doom metal. The band are also announcing their brand new album ‘Hungry For Live’, which will be released on May 16, 2025.

Vocalist/guitarist Dave Meester comments on the track:

“I have always been fascinated by the concept of fantasizing, especially a fantasy about another person. This person has no control over your fantasy of them, which can feel very exciting and arousing. Ironically, it also portraits a certain loneliness. The fantasy will never be reality.”

It’s a great sounding track packed with some superb guitar work, both quiet and loud. The tantalising dynamics led by Meester’s gravelly vocals make this track captured by the crystal clear production. We all need a little doom in our lives, especially when it sounds this good.
