Nipaluna/Hobart musician Abe Parsons, working under the moniker Caelo, is continuing a stunning upwards trajectory with his third single ‘Tongue Tied’: a raw and visceral folk-inflected piece of indie pop that creates a guitar-laced web that enraptures and captivates.
The complex crystalline guitars form the spine to this song: melodic and intricate, while Parson’s voice, bolstered by sweet harmonies, is velvet soft and expressive. The lyrics are filled with a romantic sense of optimism while touched with a sense of yearning. Caelo is developing an unique style that mixes sparkling instrumentation with a delivery that nods at americana and folk, while infusing this with an antipodean indie pop sensibility.
