Alt-Pop newcomers Desperately Seeking Suki unveil the infectious debut single ‘Suki’.
Formed by siblings Natassa Zoë and SIG SALI (Danny Pugh), the duo bridge continents between Australia and the UK, introducing a bold sonic identity blending sprawling electronics, pop and biting indie rock sensibilities.
Taken from the duo’s forthcoming debut EP, ‘Suki’ is a striking entry point into a project that thrives on contrast – pop melodies, punching drums, electronic production and subtle guitar work which collide to create something which is commercially minded, yet reassuringly original.
From the twinkling arpeggiators of the opening, the track moves into a drifting verse as boxy electronic drums and spacious chords underpin the spoken word vocals. As ‘Suki’ reaches the chorus, the drums tighten up and the bright synths pull the track to a more obviously pop orientated space as the vocals deliver the instantly repeatable main melody.
After a second iteration of the verse and chorus, the track reaches a hypnotic half tempo middle eight, which ambles through a psychedelic haze to a climactic final chorus.
Speaking on the release, Natassa explains: “Suki is about embracing the light and dark in yourself and finding love that holds through the chaos.”
Though the project may be new, both artists bring significant creative pedigree. Natassa Zoë is a multi-disciplinary talent – actor, musician, and filmmaker who has worked as a session guitarist for Hayley Mary and GRAACE, and shared stages with artists including Keith Urban and Liam Gallagher. Her visual work has also been recognised internationally, with film festival selections spanning Cannes, Berlin, New York, Toronto, and London.
Meanwhile, Danny Pugh’s solo work as SIG SALI has established him as a compelling voice in electronic indie. Following his 2025 EP Chaos In My Mind and appearances at Glastonbury Festival, he has collaborated with Freddie Cowan and Ricardo Acasuso, refining a sound that blends glitchy electronics with soaring instrumentation.
