Hope D is set to release her debut album ‘Clash of The Substance’ on 10 February 2023 via AWAL, in the interim the talented musician has made the official video for her new single ‘Senseless’ available.

The video was directed by Phoebe Faye and features Hope in the ring, sparring with band mate Jenna Goy.

“This music video was so incredibly fun to film and made me realise how unfit I am, the visuals are supposed to represent an intense battle that the song discusses, a fight that I hypothetically start and end up defeated. I also fully recommend doing face ice baths and at the same time, I do not recommend them at all. Phoebe and Jonno, the director of photography, were so incredible to work with and Robbie from the boxing gym was made for the camera”

The song reveals an edgy, rocker side of Hope and features a riff that Survivor and Rocky Balbao would kill for. Watch the video below.

Hope D has spoken about how she wrote ‘Senseless’ during a difficult time in her life.

“I wrote Senseless in a time in my life when I was constantly not sober to try and escape my reality of being unhappy in an on/off relationship. I wasn’t talking about how I really felt and was indulging in different substances to allow me to feel numb and have a better time with where I was at because that was easier than coming to terms with the situation. It is a very angry and intense song, but the anger is directed at myself rather than my partner at the time, because I wasn’t doing anything about my unhappiness and just using drugs and alcohol to escape it. The song references my forthcoming album’s name Clash Of The Substance, and is an inspiration for all the songs on it.”

Produced by Aidan Hogg and mastered by Joe La Porta, ‘Clash of the Substance’ features ‘Senseless’ and the three previously released singles, ‘Emerald‘, the infectious ‘Hate Goodbyes‘ and ‘Happy Hangover’.

Earlier this year Hope D performed her first national headline tour and took the stage at Groovin The Moo and BIGSOUND. Next up, Hope will perform at The Zoo’s 30th birthday party in Brisbane on Friday 9 December, with further dates to be announced soon.
