Track: Japanese Black Metal Band Sigh Release Video For New Track ‘Satsui’

Following the announcement of Sigh’s new album ‘Shiki, due 26th August via Peaceville, the cult Japanese black metal legends have shared the video for new track ‘Satsui’.

Sigh main man Mirai Kawashima explains the track:

“The album ‘Shiki’ is mostly about my personal fear of getting old and my fear of death, but some of the songs are a bit off topic and ‘Satsui’ is one of them. ‘Satsui’ means ‘Intent to Kill’ and it is my personal view on the death penalty. You often hear people say ‘The criminal penalty is not meant to be for revenge’ or ‘we all live in a country governed by law’, but I do not think things are that simple; but of course everybody has the right to have their own opinions though. I guess the song is one of the most straightforward ones on the album.

Melding classic metal elements with black metal growling and a touch of operatic vocals the track is an epic 4 minute fest of some of the finest heavy music to come out of Japan. Kawashima lays down some smoking guitar work and his urgent almost violent vocals on the verses take the track to another dimension. If you haven’t heard this band now is the time to get acquainted.
