Hotline TNT’s latest video for ‘Stump’ is a whimsical journey into a retro TV cartoon world, perfectly encapsulating the laid-back vibe of their shoegaze sound. Animated by Matt Carignan and complemented by Emil Bognar-Nasdor’s sound design, the video seamlessly blends footage of the band performing with pastoral scenes on a farm, creating a charming visual narrative.

Will Anderson’s delicate vocals intertwine with the sunny chorus, evoking a sense of nostalgia and warmth. The frayed edges of the guitar, rather than anll out shoegaze wall of noise, add to the track’s dreamy atmosphere, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in its enchanting world.

‘Stump’ off the NYC bands 2023 album, Cartwheel, showcases Hotline TNT’s ability to marry catchy melodies with a relaxed aesthetic. It comes ahead of the bands one off UK show in London’s Dome this week, although they return later in the year for shows in Leeds, Brighton, Devon and at Green Man Festival. Check it out below
