Track: Rex Orange County Reunites With Daniel Caesar on ‘Indecision’

Rex Orange County has reunited with Daniel Caesar for new single ‘Indecision’, a soulful ballad that finds the pair caught somewhere between instinct, doubt and the consequences of thinking about things for far too long.

The collaboration follows their 2025 double single ‘Rearrange My World’ and ‘There’s a Field (That’s Only Yours)’, picking up the musical conversation established between the two artists. This time the arrangement leaves plenty of room for their voices, with Rex and Caesar trading perspectives as ‘Indecision’ circles the familiar problem of knowing how you feel but still managing to question it.

It’s an understated song, relying on the contrast and chemistry between two immediately recognisable voices rather than piling on the production. The track has already been named BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record and arrives with a Rhys Scarabosio-shot video filmed in Montana.

The release comes during a particularly unusual stretch of live shows for Rex. Over the past few weeks, he has been travelling around the UK and Ireland performing pop-up sets inside fans’ homes, reducing the usual distance between artist and audience to roughly the width of somebody’s living room.

That experiment is heading to South East Asia next, before Rex headlines LaLaLa Festival in Jakarta and Manila. He’ll also play an underplay at London’s Village Underground ahead of appearing at Tyler, The Creator’s All Points East takeover.

Australia has been part of the Rex Orange County story for some time. His first official live appearances here came as part of Laneway Festival in 2019, while his 2023 tour saw shows at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion and Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena sell out on the morning they went on sale, prompting additional dates around the country.

Across his records, Rex has always been comfortable letting alternative pop rub shoulders with soul, jazz and R&B, and ‘Indecision’ sits naturally at that intersection. Bringing Caesar back into the picture makes even more sense. Their voices approach the uncertainty at the heart of the song differently, but they sound increasingly at home occupying the same space.

REX ORANGE COUNTY – UPCOMING LIVE DATES
Thursday 20th August – LaLaLa Festival, Manila, Philippines
Saturday 22nd August – LaLaLa Festival, Jakarta, Indonesia
Thursday 27th August – Village Underground – London, UK
Friday 28th August – All Points East – London, UK
