Track: Sailor Hunter Set Themselves Up As One To Watch With Track ‘Life’

Marcus Alfsson

Swedish Gothenburg-based melodic death metal band Sailor Hunter released their self-titled EP on the 19th of May via Inverse Records. The band shared the music video ‘Life’ in celebration.

Regarding the track the band comments:

“Trying to find meaning in the past and use the wrongs as instructions of what not to do in the future. To be able to function in this life.”

Not often does a track excites me like ‘Life’ did from the first spin. A cleverly crafted piece of death metal that goes full-on psycho when needed but also pulls back and lets the groove take over. The drums in particular are a highlight with Kutte Gashi putting the intricate into heavy as Stellan Berndtsson belts out the growls. Al Rinald melts your face with his fretwork and Filip Jovanov on bass keeps things on the right side of heavy. Bring it all together and we have one hell of a track.
