Track: Stand Atlantic Announce GODBREATH And Share Explosive New Single ‘LUCID’

Stand Atlantic have announced their fifth studio album, GODBREATH, due for release on October 23 via Virgin Music Group, alongside the arrival of blistering new single ‘LUCID’, a track that finds the Sydney outfit embracing self-reflection without sacrificing the urgency that has defined their rise.

Over the past decade, Stand Atlantic have steadily evolved from one of Australia’s most exciting pop-punk newcomers into an internationally recognised force within alternative music. Rather than repeating familiar formulas, GODBREATH sees the quartet pushing further into emotionally exposed territory while retaining the punch and immediacy that has become their hallmark.

For vocalist Bonnie Fraser, the album’s title represents a state of complete authenticity. “To me, GODBREATH means being the most authentic version of yourself,” she explains. That pursuit of honesty runs throughout the record, from Fraser’s stream-of-consciousness lyricism to a live-tracked recording process that captures the chemistry between the band at its most instinctive.

Latest single ‘LUCID’ embodies that philosophy. Written towards the end of the album sessions after the band had abandoned expectations surrounding the project, the song channels writer’s fatigue into an explosive meditation on self-sabotage and radical self acceptance. Propelled by pounding rhythms and Fraser’s emotionally charged vocal, the track captures the moment where internal conflict gives way to clarity. Its accompanying VHS-style video, filmed at Sydney’s Lord Gladstone Hotel, reinforces the band’s raw live energy while paying tribute to their hometown roots.

TOUR DATES

20 September – NEXUS – Nerd Rock Festival 2026, Leipzig, Germany

The album follows earlier single ‘Velcro’, which marked a notable shift for Stand Atlantic as their first outright love song. Praised by outlets including Rolling Stone Australia and Kerrang!, the track hinted at a broader emotional palette without abandoning the band’s alternative foundations, laying the groundwork for what GODBREATH promises to explore more fully.

Since forming in Sydney in 2012, Stand Atlantic have built one of Australia’s most successful alternative success stories. Beginning with 2017’s Sidewinder EP before releasing Skinny Dipping, Pink Elephant, f.e.a.r. and WAS HERE, the band have accumulated more than 500 million streams while earning chart success in Australia, the UK and the United States. Their ARIA Platinum-certified collaboration ‘Deathwish’ with nothing, nowhere. remains one of the defining songs of their catalogue, while relentless touring has seen them share stages with A Day To Remember, I Prevail, Sum 41 and ONE OK ROCK.

With appearances already locked in for the 2026 US Warped Tour and a UK run supporting Simple Plan, Stand Atlantic continue to strengthen their international profile. GODBREATH appears poised to mark another significant step in a career built on constant reinvention, proving once again that the band’s greatest strength lies in their willingness to evolve without losing sight of who they are.
