Track: Yakima – Thanks

Following on from the engaging ‘It Helped’, an ode to giving up smoking, Yakima have returned with a brand new single – ‘Thanks’, taken from their debut EP ‘Go Virtually’, out on April 3rd.

It’s this wistful, rather lovely slice of alt-rock, with something of the Pavement about it, and sprinkled with a good amount of Jon EE Allan of Happyness’ piano. It sways and strolls along, all slacker vocals and earworm melodies.

Bassist and vocalist Neil McArthur says of the track; “Thanks is the result of us trying to be mellow. It’s intended for those who give it a listen to close their eyes and imagine us preparing their favourite meal for them in a delicate fashion.”
