Video: The Fontaines DC want to take you on a ‘Roman Holiday’

Fontaines DC who have just finished a tour of the USA, have today released a new accompanying video to the previously released single ‘Roman Holiday’. The track is from their album ‘Skinty Fia’, which debuted at #1 on both the UK and Irish Official Album Charts.

The video was directed by Sam Taylor who said that it came about as “the result of attempting to challenge the monarchy and watching too much of The Rockford Files.”

The video is shot in the style of a retro heist movie-a little reminiscent of the video that the Beastie Boys made for ‘Sabotage‘ and just as hilariously surreal. Shot with a retro lens and featuring some snappy editing and increasingly bizarre camera angles, the video also features a giant Teddy bear! It’s great fun to watch and perfectly matches the lyrics of the song, with Grian Chatten singing “Baby, come on get stoned, get stoned”

Watch Fontaines DC play ‘Roman Holiday’ at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend below.

Fontaines DC are about to embark on an extensive string of EU and UK festival appearances – full details HERE.

Fontaines D.C. are:

Carlos O’Connell (guitar), Conor Curley (guitar), Conor Deegan III (bass guitar), Grian Chatten (vocals) and Tom Coll (drums).
