Synth-pop duo Moxxy Jones has finally unveiled their highly anticipated debut album, ‘Unnoticed’. Over the past two years, the US-based pair has steadily released singles from this 11-track offering, culminating in a colourful collection of genre-blending songs that evoke a sense of nostalgia.

Opening with ‘This Time’, the album quickly introduces you to the duo’s flare for textured soundscapes, boasting electro-pop goodness with its soaring female-fronted vocal lines and classic dance-inspired drum patterns making it a vibrant offering that perfectly lines up the rest of the album.

Elsewhere on the album ‘Sinking Into You’, featuring vocals by Courtney Grace showcases the duo’s versatility. It begins with a dark, arpeggiated synth-bass that establishes a new wave vibe throughout the verses. The industrial-style rhythm section and call-and-response vocal harmonies enhance the 80s nostalgia before leading into a unique bridge. With phasers and unusual sonic elements, the song seems poised for an EDM drop but instead delivers a roaring guitar solo, that completely changes the feel of the track, transforming it into an anthemic pop-rock single.

‘Never’, another highlight, features singer/songwriter Trent Park and bassist Uriah Duffy. Diverging in sound, this R&B-tinged track combines funk-inspired basslines with electronic elements, creating a mid-tempo tune that evokes introspection. The interplay of these diverse influences showcases Moxxy Jones’ versatility and their ability to craft songs that resonate on multiple levels.

The album closes with ‘Fray’, a piano-led ballad featuring vocals from Mariami. This track, with its reverb-soaked slide guitar lines, subtle string arrangements, and gentle synth swells, contrasts sharply with the rest of the album. It showcases a softer side of Moxxy Jones’s songwriting and culminates in a grand finale with two battling pianos playing off each other, closing the album off ceremoniously.

‘Unnoticed’ is a must listen for fans of synth-pop and alternative rock. Moxxy Jones’ meticulous attention to detail and varied sonic palette ensure that there is something for everyone on this record. Their no-compromise approach to songwriting shines through, breaking conventional genre barriers and rewarding repeat listens with new discoveries each time.

In ‘Unnoticed’, Moxxy Jones delivers an album that is both a labour of love and a bold statement of their artistic vision. It’s a compelling debut that promises exciting future endeavours from this talented duo.
