The official rerelease and remaster of Westworld, Theatre of Hate`s first album.
TOH came to the forefront in the early 1980`s, I was lucky enough to see them at that time at Plymouth Top Rank, supported by Southern Death Cult pre the release of this album in 1982.
The distinct sound of Brandons vocals and the pounding drums with saxophone over what was really a mix of late punk/ and to me western style guitar riffs, made them a formidable live act.
This box contains the remastered original album which was mixed by Mick Jones of The Clash with the added bonus of the 7 and 12inch versions of Do You Believe In The Westworld and a rerecording of Original Sin an early single.
Disc 2 contains alternate versions of The Wake and Conquistador as well as John Peel Session versions of Westworld , 63 and Anniversary.
Disc 3 probably my favourite is the Live In Vienna gig, which has been around on bootleg for some time, but this sees it given the proper treatment and really gives you an idea of how good the band were live.
This box comes with a really nice booklet written by Mojo`s Pat Gibert with notes from interviews with the band.. its been a long time BUT WELL WORTH THE WAIT… another great reissue form Cherry Red
