Crawford Mack ‘Depends On Where You Stand’

New single from Glaswegian singer songwriter

Crawford Mack has been a feature on the live music circuit in Glasgow for some time, his debut album is due for release this Autumn, and this track is the first to feature from the work.

Classically trained in jazz; Mack is by admission a voracious reader of literature which infuses his work with intellect and symbolism coupled with a clever dexterity of melody and lyricism.

Depends On Where You Stand is though a level of simplicity combining effective guitars and string to create a composition reminiscent of Ben Howard. Mack explains the track as a meeting of two would be lovers who are coy to begin with and then soar into this Hollywood-esque meet cute of dancing around the issue of being attracted to each other.

Mack harkens his music as the sweet spot between ‘Led Zeppelin and Joni Mitchell’ and it incorporates the raft of influences ranging from jazz to classical music.

His album produced in Antwerp will be one to watch. My thanks to Mystic Sons for the review opportunity.
