Singer-songwriter Margaux Regan shares the intimate and emotive new EP After Thought. What began as a series of intimate singles has now crystallised into a four-track collection that introduces Margaux not just as a promising newcomer, but as a songwriter with a clear sense of self.

Rooted in bedroom-floor confessions and shaped by a year of personal and creative growth, After Thought captures the fragile, formative stretch between nineteen and twenty-one with striking emotional precision.

Bringing both heartfelt songwriting and moments of buoyant acoustic pop, the four track release brings folk and country tinged musicality with a youthful flare and a striking sense of emotional sincerity. Opening track ‘Nothing’s Gonna Hurt You’ sets the tone, opening with a finger picked guitar and solo vocal which instantly captures a raw, melancholic intimacy before the track flourishes into its beautifully layered chorus as piano, a chorus of harmonies and swells of lead guitar accompany the lead melody.

As‘ Nothing’s Gonna Hurt You’ progresses introducing the full band, the track’s country undertones and cinematic production shines bright.

‘Obsessed’ brings a more pop minded, light songwriting approach, leaning heavily into the Americana and Country influences with its bouncing rhythms, picked banjos and playful fiddle over the acoustic guitar, bass and effortlessly controlled lead vocals.

‘Radio Silence’ breaks the EP up with a track more reliant on its atmospheric electronic elements, before closing track ‘So Story’, closes the EP with the youthful angst and emotional depth of the opener.

A brilliant first introduction to Margaux Regan, the EP highlights the solo artists radiant potential in a collection of tracks which are restrained and personal, yet relatable and radio worthy.
