James Blunt brought his Back to Bedlam 20th anniversary tour to Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on October 25, marking two decades since his debut album first made its impact around the world. The performance revisited the record that shaped his career, with Blunt playing each track from Back to Bedlam alongside a selection of songs from later releases.

It was a concert that looked back without sentimentality. Back to Bedlam—which sold over 12 million copies worldwide and remains one of the UK’s best-selling albums—was presented not as a relic of the past, but as a collection of songs that still connect in the present.

Two decades on, Blunt’s voice carried the same mix of fragility and conviction that made his debut resonate. The night was a reminder of how those songs, stripped of context or nostalgia, continue to hold their own.
