Japanese heavy innovators Paledusk brought their volatile fusion of metalcore, industrial, nu-metal and EDM to Stay Gold Melbourne, delivering a set defined by crushing riffs and constant movement. Since emerging from Fukuoka with their breakthrough 2020 EP Happy Talk, the band have carved out a reputation for dismantling genre boundaries and pushing heavy music into new territory.
No strangers to Australian audiences, Paledusk had already forged strong ties locally, performing at Good Things Festival in 2022 and returning earlier this year in support of Alpha Wolf. That familiarity was evident at Stay Gold, where the crowd responded immediately, mosh pits forming as the band unleashed their tightly controlled chaos.
The performance reinforced Paledusk’s growing presence within Australia’s heavy scene, their sound operating with precision and unpredictability. With new material on the horizon, the Melbourne show confirmed a band continuing to build momentum far beyond their origins in Fukuoka.
