Live Review: Cosmic Psychos play Sydney Plus Gallery

Cosmic Psychos

The Cosmic Psychos finally made it back to Sydney tonight, playing at the Crow bar to a sold out crowd.

The Cosmic Psychos are Australian punk icons. They first formed in 1982 and have been through many line-up iterations. Currently the band is made up of Ross Knight, Dean Muller and John “Mad Macka” McKeering. Expectations were high as the band took the stage tonight and the Psychos did not disappoint.

After sharing a drink and a laugh, while the crowd watched on, the band sprang into action roaring through their set like men possessed.

There was a lot of interplay between the Psychos and the crowd and the affection that the fans have for the band was very apparent. Between songs, Ross Knight jokingly advised the audience not to sing or dance – consistent with the current NSW Covid legislation.

Highlight of the evening was ‘Fuckwit City’ which the audience had been baying for from the very start of the gig. Eventually the band launched into a searing version of the song much to the delight of the fans. The Sydney crowd clearly enjoyed having the iconic band, whose fans include Donita Sparks of L7 and Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam back playing live again.
