Live Review: Hot Mulligan / Arms Length – The Garage, London 27.04.23

Although this was a small 600 capacity venue, it didn’t stop crowds queuing to make sure they got a good spot in the Highbury music venue.

By the time the support, Arms Length, came on, the venue was already near capacity. I did think it was because Hot Mulligan don’t tour the UK too often being a U.S. band. However, a lot of the crowd knew the support, and were already singing back the words. This is a band that has never toured outside the US, so you could see the surprise on their faces when room was filled with the crowds singing. This was one of the best support slots I have seen in a long time, and Arms Length are definitely a band to watch out for.

It was then time for the highly anticipated main event, Hot Mulligan. Their set was a showcase of their career, featuring old bangers and newer music including songs from their upcoming album.

As crowds go, this was also one of the best I’d seen at a gig for a long time, with a majority of the crowd jumping, singing and dancing throughout the entire set. They finished the night with ‘Pilot’ before the jubilant crowd filled into the streets and ventured home. However, they will all be delighted to hear that only a couple days later, Hot Mulligan have announced their next UK tour in September and I will certainly be going.
