Live Review: Summer Street festival 2022 – Cliffe Park, Sunderland 09.07.2022

By Adam Littlemore

Sunderland’s Summer Street festival returned with some fantastic artists performing and also bringing new cultures together. The first band to kick off the day was Labyrinthine Oceans, who opened up the festival with their dark music, driving guitar riffs, and bewitching vocals from the lead singer.

The next act to perform was Kate Bond who brought her unique vibe to the festival with saxophone and RnB rhythms. Faye Fantarrow was next entertaining the crowd with her passionate vocals and beautiful songwriting. Fantarrow has come a long way over her music career playing at various music venues worldwide.

The fourth act was Beth Macari doing what she does best, blowing away the crowd with her out of this world voice and her 2 backing singers singing harmonies with Macari over funky riffs from both the bass player and the guitarist.

The last band to close the night were Weekend Faithful closing the festival at Pop Recs where they dominated the stage with their loud drum beats and cool bass riffs. The crowd was dancing and singing along to the band’s music ending the festival on a high.
