Blues Rockers Thieves of liberty held their first EP ‘Back Again‘ launch at the Independent bringing another two bands along to entertain the crowd. The first band of the night to perform were Kulpa who gave it their all with fuzzy bass and rock riffs from both the guitarist as the crowd dancing along to their music. My favourite track from they performance was ‘Ghost’ great track ever beat and riff you hear in the track is great you can feel the energy coming from the band and can feel the power of the track definitely one of my favourite tracks.

The second band to perform were Amongst liars and this was the first time they have performed at the Independent in Sunderland. I have been meaning to see this band for a while and tonight I finally had the opportunity to see them, and wow it was worth the wait what a band. The lead singer was feeding off the energy from the crowd and singing from the top of his lungs over the rumble of thundering bass riffs and ferocious guitar riffs from guitarist Leo, all the while jumping off the stage into the crowd who were dancing along to the bands wall of sound. A sound that I just can’t describe to you apart from to say that it was LOUD and that’s the way the band likes it.

Thieves of liberty opened their set up with ‘ain’t going home’ with the heavy riffs from the guitarist and power vocals from the lead singer and deep bass riffs a in your face taken it all in along with the band were loud, blowing me away especially with track ‘Back Again’ that the band finished with. Ending on a high as the lead singer jumped into the crowd starting a mosh pit to end the night with crowd singing and dancing to the music and having a good time.
