Feral Mantra - Lost

Doncaster band Feral Mantra have unveiled a brand new track in the form of “Lost”. Hailed as their debut single, the track sees the uplifting indie band create an instantly catchy and vintage anthem. In my live review of their recent gig at The Rocking Chair in Sheffield, I described them as a wonderful ‘mad scientist experiment’ type band, with amazing rock hair, retro indie sensibilities and an eclectic catalogue of influences and sounds ranging from the Manic Street Preachers to Def Leppard via Mansun and Alice Deejay (yes really!).

Feral Mantra
Lead singer Jim Rollins and his famous rock hair.

With their brand new track, they bring a summery indie vibe with some gorgeous retro-flavoured guitars and echoing and distant but warm and honest vocals. Beneath are drumbeats which are both insistent and laidback all at once. It’s the soundtrack to an endless summer festival which could easily be in the 1960s, 1990s or 2016!

Feral Mantra’s new single is available to stream for free on soundcloud, with an official release on Spotify on 22/04/16.

Find out more about the band on their twitter, Facebook and YouTube pages.
