Track: Holy Esque – Hexx

Glasgow quartet Holy Esque have announced their long awaited debut album will drop on February 26th 2016 via Beyond The Frequency. From it the band are streaming a brand new single, Hexx – released as a double a-side along with ‘Silences’ on the flip, which is out on December 7th.

It bursts into life, with guitars making their presence felt over this repeating synth figure. Over the top, there’s this infectious tune, scuffed up by this (something approaching) John Lydon delivery. As it hits the chorus, so waves of guitar overflow and splash all over the song, but as melodic and immediate as it is, there’s always something brooding about the indie/post punk the band produces.
