We were incredibly honoured to premiere the stunning debut single ‘Fractured’ of Tokyo-based Sydney artist Joey Sachi last year, and she has followed this up with a new single, ‘Reverie,’ which proves without doubt that this is an artist that has a brilliant career ahead.

‘Reverie’ floats in the skies: celestial and majestic instrumentation dapples and flows like a stream in the bright sunshine, with an electronic thrum threading underneath. Sachi’s vocals are like strands of gossamer silk drifting in a slipstream in the sky. The track is quiet and reflective, introducing a gentle warmth and sophistication that shows incremental creative growth and development from her debut.

Sachi has teaming up with UK producer Affelaye and the track was recorded between Tokyo and Sydney and produced in the UK.

The song, the first collaboration between Sachi and Affelaye, was a bucket list opportunity for Sachi. As she describes, ‘Reverie’ has added significance because of the creative dynamic it birthed between the duo.

Collaborating with Affelaye was a real ‘pinch me’ moment as an artist. I have been a longtime admirer of his music -he was one of the first artists who sparked my deep love of electronic music. His attention to detail and the way he has carved out a distinct sound for himself is nothing short of impressive. He is immensely talented. Reverie came together quite quickly! The process was seamless, we immediately aligned creatively. I’m so proud of what we have created together. Affelaye was a dream to work with.

The lyrics display a deep romanticism that is threaded in the melodic delivery with a yearning melancholia:

I wanna fall again, I’ll fall again for you (again for you)
You should’ve called again, I’d call again for you (again for you)

This is tremendous songwriting and production from this prodigious talent.

‘Reverie’ is out now and available to download and stream via all the usual channels.
