Aberdeen five piece Sweet White are due to release their new EP, Monet, later on in the year and ahead of it, the band are streaming the first track to be taken from it, Tides.
Opening with this well worn path of synth infused indie, shoegaze (nothing wrong with that, you understand) it nods towards Arctic Monkeys with the atmospheric vocals, but musically, its a lt more taught and anxious, and when it reaches the chorus, there’s this messy overdrive about the guitars that fuzz the issue a little. Best of all, it has the kind of memorable melodies that the good Reverend and his Makers have been trading off for a good while. Yeah, it’s that good.
