After making his Australian debut at CMC Rocks QLD earlier this year, rising Tennessee country singer Bayker Blankenship is wasting little time getting back. The 21-year-old will return in December for his first Australian headline tour, taking in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

The run begins at Sydney’s Metro Theatre on December 10 before heading to Melbourne’s Northcote Theatre on December 12 and wrapping up at The Tivoli in Brisbane on December 13.

It’s a quick return for Blankenship, whose CMC Rocks appearance was the furthest he had travelled from his Livingston, Tennessee home to perform. Australian crowds already knew the words, with songs including platinum-certified breakout hit ‘Maxed Out’ giving him a considerably warmer welcome than your average first-time visitor.

“Australia made a huge impression on me the first time around,” Blankenship says. “Australian people really love music. I feel so at home there, and I wanted to come back as soon as I could. Plus, they have really good coffee.”

The December shows will give Blankenship considerably more room to introduce himself. Alongside ‘Maxed Out’, expect ‘Jailbreak’, ‘Sunday Supper’ and ‘Thinking of Me’, as well as new material from the full-length debut album he is currently working on.

That means Australian audiences will be among the first to hear some of what comes next for a young songwriter whose rise has been remarkably quick. This time there’s no festival timetable and no need for a hurried introduction. Blankenship has the room to himself.

Frontier Members presale begins at 12pm AEST on Thursday, August 20, with general tickets on sale from 1pm AEST on Friday, August 21.
