News: Blue Capricorn Releases Haunting New Single ‘honest’ with LOREN KOLE, Shares Tracklist For Upcoming EP when you come back, transcend me

Experimental indietronica artist and producer Blue Capricorn has joined forces with Dallas-based Cuban-American artist and producer LOREN KOLE on ‘honest’. A beautifully emotional, atmospheric and infectious single which draws comparisons to London Grammar and Art School Girlfriend.

The new single arrives as the third track from Blue Capricorn’s forthcoming second EP, when you come back, transcend me, due for release on October 15, 2026. Blending alt-pop, electronics, Latin indie and art pop, ‘honest’ is built around lush synths, delicate keys, atmospheric guitar and restrained percussion, creating an intimate and cinematic setting for its emotionally reflective songwriting.

Rather than treating heartbreak as a definitive ending, ‘honest’ lingers in the uncertainty that follows. The track captures the tension between wanting to maintain a connection and understanding that a relationship can no longer be sustained, with its understated production allowing the vulnerability at its core to remain front and centre.

The song was written and developed over the course of a year and a half, evolving substantially from its earliest incarnation as Blue Capricorn and LOREN KOLE found a shared creative language. For Blue Capricorn, the collaboration became an opportunity to explore both the personal themes of the song and a sonic atmosphere that felt true to both artists.

Talking about the single, Blue Capricorn shares: “‘honest’ isn’t anything like what it sounded a year ago. When I met LOREN a few years ago, I knew I wanted to work with her one way or another, and when I had started working on my new EP, it only felt natural for me to invite her into my space. While we were getting to know each other, I had realized that LOREN and I shared a lot of the same interests in music; most commonly the feeling that music gave us and what we hoped to communicate through our own work.

Throughout a year and a half, it felt like this song had lived a life because it had evolved into something so pure and precious to us. The more we spent time on it, the more I realized that ‘honest’ really is nothing more than a song about vulnerability and accepting failed love. I think working with LOREN also helped me dig deeper into that certain headspace, and she had also really played a big role in finding an accessible musical ambiance that spoke to us both sonically. It was one of my biggest privileges to explore that with LOREN.”

That shared creative process can be heard throughout the finished track. ‘honest’ feels suspended between closeness and distance, with its atmospheric textures providing a cinematic backdrop while the vocal and instrumental interplay between Blue Capricorn and LOREN KOLE gives the song the quality of a shared confession.

The single continues the direction established by Blue Capricorn’s forthcoming seven-track EP, when you come back, transcend me. The project moves through ambient textures, experimental production, indie rock influences and emotionally direct songwriting, exploring themes of longing, nostalgia, vulnerability and self-discovery.

The EP follows Blue Capricorn’s 2023 release ¡AYÚDAME! and marks another step in the development of his experimental indie project. Based in Dallas, award-winning Mexican-Argentine artist Rodrigo Caraballo-Marin creates music that draws together the ethereal qualities of indie rock, the hazy atmosphere of psychedelia and the introspective possibilities of electronic music.

Influenced by artists including Massive Attack, Portishead, James Blake, Nosaj Thing and Nicolas Jaar, Blue Capricorn’s work occupies a space where ambient sound and deeply personal songwriting intersect. His collaborations with Jacks Haupt, Adieu Anais, Black Taffy and LOREN KOLE have further connected the project to Dallas’ evolving independent music community.

LOREN KOLE brings her own cinematic sensibility to ‘honest’. The Dallas-based Cuban-American indie-pop artist and producer is known for a dark, dreamy sound that places atmosphere and melody at the centre of her work, making the collaboration a natural fit for Blue Capricorn’s immersive approach.

With ‘honest’, the pair have created a track that does not attempt to resolve the feelings surrounding failed love. Instead, it allows them to remain complicated, intimate and unresolved, finding beauty in the vulnerability of accepting what cannot be changed.

The seven-track track list for when you come back, transcend me is:

  1. remember?
  2. HEAR ME OUT
  3. honest (feat. LOREN KOLE)
  4. MISERICORDIA (feat. Black Taffy)
  5. me pesa…
  6. love, i will be braver
  7. even the rain will resist
