News: Bruno Mars announces Australian dates for massive The Romantic Tour

Bruno Mars is heading back to Australia, bringing his mammoth The Romantic Tour downunder in March 2027.

South African star Tyla joins him as special guest, while longtime collaborator Anderson .Paak will appear behind the decks under his DJ Pee .Wee moniker.

The Australian dates form part of an enormous international run that has now grown beyond 115 stadium shows across North America, Europe, the UK, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Mexico. Even by Mars’ standards, The Romantic Tour is operating on a formidable scale.

It also brings together three artists who approach pop from very different directions. Mars has spent more than a decade turning funk, soul, R&B and pop into some of the biggest songs of his generation, while his partnership with Anderson .Paak as Silk Sonic added another chapter with 2021’s ‘An Evening with Silk Sonic’.

Tyla, meanwhile, arrives as one of the major breakout artists of recent years. The two-time Grammy winner has taken her fusion of pop, R&B and South African amapiano to an international audience, making her a substantial addition to two shows already designed for maximum impact.

And then there is Anderson .Paak. Rather than appearing as part of Silk Sonic, the nine-time Grammy winner will warm up Accor Stadium as DJ Pee .Wee, bringing his record collection and considerable personality to the decks before Mars takes over.

The Romantic Tour sees Mars returning to the stadium-sized world where his catalogue makes most sense. ‘Uptown Funk’, ‘Locked Out of Heaven’, ‘Just the Way You Are’, ‘24K Magic’ and ‘That’s What I Like’ are songs built to travel a long way from the stage, and in March they will have one of Australia’s biggest venues in which to do it.

With Tyla and Anderson .Paak joining him, Mars isn’t coming back to Sydney quietly. Two nights at Accor Stadium should see The Romantic Tour living up to its considerable name and scale.

Bruno Mars 2027 Tour Dates

Sat 13 Feb – Optus Stadium (Perth)
Fri 19 Feb – Marvel Stadium (Melbourne)
Sat 20 Feb – Marvel Stadium (Melbourne)
Sun 28 Feb – Suncorp Stadium (Brisbane)
Thu 4 Mar – Accor Stadium (Sydney)
Fri 5 Mar – Accor Stadium (Sydney)
