A slice of Havana is heading Down Under. Cuban music legends Buena Vista All Stars have announced their first-ever Australian tour, bringing a 14-piece ensemble to Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne in February 2027.
Led by former Buena Vista Social Club members Demetrio Muñiz and Manuel Machado, the group will bring the rhythms of Cuba to three of Australia’s best-known live music venues.
The tour kicks off at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on 11 February, before heading to Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on 12 February and Melbourne’s Forum Theatre on 13 February.
Blending traditional Cuban son with African and Spanish influences, Buena Vista All Stars celebrate the musical heritage that helped turn the Buena Vista Social Club into a worldwide phenomenon. It’s a sound built on infectious rhythms, rich instrumentation and songs that have travelled far beyond Havana.
And the appetite for this music shows no signs of slowing down.
Since 2024, the group have sold out more than 65 performances across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the Americas, including a crowd of more than 20,000 at France’s Rio Loco Festival.
Their live performance of the Buena Vista Social Club classic Chan Chan also earned Best Production at the 2026 Intercontinental Music Awards, with the accompanying video attracting more than 3.5 million views.
Bringing together different generations of Cuban musicians, the All Stars are keeping the country’s musical traditions alive while introducing them to new audiences.
Now it’s Australia’s turn.
