n 1966, Bob Dylan shattered expectations at Manchester’s Free Trade Hall, in what became the defining moment of rock history—the night he switched from acoustic to electric, igniting the fury of folk purists. That set forever redefined what music could be, a line in the sand between what was and what could be.
In 2025, Cat Power will step into that fire, as she will perform Dylan’s legendary Royal Albert Hall set.
Released as a live album in late 2023, Cat Power Sings Dylan: The 1966 Royal Albert Hall Concert brings those iconic tracks—‘It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue’, ‘Just Like Tom Thumb’s Blues’, ‘Mr. Tambourine Man’, and selections from Blonde on Blonde—to a new audience. But this isn’t a simple tribute. Cat Power reshapes the songs with her unmistakable touch, blending Dylan’s defiance with her own quiet, yet unwavering conviction.
In March 2025, Australian audiences will witness this rebirth of Dylan’s 1966 show, a performance that remains a cornerstone of rock’s evolution, as Cat Power pays homage while making it wholly her own.
