News: London-Based Songwriter Larusta Unveils Haunting New Single ‘Scattered’ Ahead of Debut Album Release

London’s alternative rock scene has a new rising star: Larusta, frontman of Larusta & The Dead Dogs, has just released his chilling new single, ‘Scattered’, offering a first taste of his debut album, The Life You Save May Be Your Own, set for release on November 15th. Known for his dark, poetic lyricism and raw musical landscapes, Larusta’s latest work cements his place among alternative rock’s most compelling voices.

‘Scattered’ was conceived during the first COVID-19 lockdown in London—a period of isolation that brought reflection for many, including Larusta. The song, which began as a poem written during those solitary days, takes listeners on a deeply personal journey through themes of chaos, transformation, and emotional endurance.

“Writing this song, and a couple of others on the album, helped me immensely in overcoming a very difficult time in my life,” Larusta shared. “When the world around me fell apart, in both my private and professional life during the lockdowns, I could only try to make sense of it all by writing down my ideas and immersing myself in these worlds.”

Musically, ‘Scattered’ was born from an experiment with the chords of an unfinished track. Larusta’s decision to shift the composition into a minor key gave the song a brooding quality, layered with the distinctively rich tones of a Wurlitzer keyboard. The addition of cello, bass, and drums creates a haunting, atmospheric soundscape that amplifies the emotional gravity of the lyrics.

Raised in a small town in southern Germany, Larusta’s musical journey has taken him from intimate beginnings to the vibrant underground music scene of London. Since moving to the city, he has become a fixture in its venues and pubs, captivating audiences with his introspective performances. This journey, from the quiet corners of Germany to the bustling creative streets of London, has undoubtedly shaped his distinct sound, blending his European roots with the gritty intensity of London’s alternative scene.

With The Life You Save May Be Your Own, Larusta is poised to make his mark on the alt-rock genre. If ‘Scattered’ is any indication, the album will deliver a raw, emotional experience that resonates with listeners looking for music that delves deep into the human experience.

Fans can look forward to November 15, when Larusta’s much-anticipated debut album will be released, offering an entire collection of introspective, atmospheric tracks. Until then, ‘Scattered’ serves as an evocative preview of what’s to come.
