American singer, songwriter, and producer Chavar Dontae shares infectious alt-pop bop ‘Too Much’.

Capturing an infectious energy, opening with strummed guitars before bringing layers of 80s influenced drums line and pulsing electronic bass. Against this backdrop of dynamic instrumentation, Dontae delivers a soulful vocal performance infused with themes of change and the complexities of fame.

Reflecting on the inspiration behind the song, Dontae shares, “I wrote this song about a time I was feeling isolated even being around a plethora of people. The feeling of someone knowing of me but not knowing my essence as a human being.”

Hailing from the Midwest, Chavar Dontae’s musical journey began in Saginaw, Michigan, and Toledo, Ohio, where he cultivated his unique blend of pop, soul, rock, and indie electronic music. Rooted in real-life experiences, his music resonates with audiences through its honest portrayal of struggle and triumph.

After graduating from music school, Dontae made the bold move to Los Angeles to pursue his passion for music. Additionally, Dontae has graced festival stages alongside the likes of Billie Eilish, Rise Against, and Run The Jewels, solidifying his place as an up and comer.

Dontae’s previous releases have garnered significant attention, with ‘Keep My Cool’ reaching #4 on the Austrian iTunes Alternative Chart and ‘On My Way (Acoustic)’ climbing to #13 on the Brazilian iTunes Alternative Chart. These achievements underscore Dontae’s growing influence and widespread appeal across international audiences.
