News: Corrella and The Elovaters team up for 2027 Australian tour

Aotearoa roots-reggae favourites Corrella are heading back across the Tasman in 2027, this time bringing Boston outfit The Elovaters along for a summer run through Australia.

The co-headline tour kicks off at Geelong’s Wool Exchange on January 24 before rolling through Wollongong, Newcastle, Burleigh, the Sunshine Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Fremantle. It wraps up at The River in Margaret River on February 7.

Corrella arrive with serious momentum behind them. The band’s breakthrough ‘Blue Eyed Māori’ spent more than 50 weeks at number one on the Official NZ Top 20 Singles chart, while debut album Road From 26 and 2024 follow-up Skeletons established their blend of roots-reggae, funk, soul and pop. Tours with L.A.B. and support slots for UB40 have kept them busy on both sides of the Tasman, with latest single ‘Not I’ pointing towards their next chapter.

The Elovaters bring a distinctly American spin to the bill. The Boston-formed band broke through with 2018’s Defy Gravity, which topped the Billboard reggae chart, and have since accumulated more than 600 million streams across their catalogue. Their fifth album, Shark Belly Motel, arrived in May, followed by a sold-out headline show at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre and a US run with Slightly Stoopid.

Putting the two bands together makes a lot of sense. Corrella bring the South Pacific roots sound that has made them one of Aotearoa’s fastest-rising live acts, while The Elovaters arrive with their own collision of reggae, rock and laid-back American roots music.
