German singer-songwriter Cris Cap returns with a new summer single, Little Yellow Car. Blending pop, R&B, blues and soul, the track reinforces Cap’s signature style: a smooth, melodic sound that radiates warmth and optimism.
Featuring glossy Rhodes piano licks and effortless grooves, Little Yellow Car is a bright and breezy addition to Cap’s growing discography. The single captures the carefree energy of summer, while also offering a more personal layer—marking the first time Cap has taken lead vocals on a release.
His decision to step into the spotlight was driven by the personal nature of the music. “For a long time, I worked with amazing singers. But at some point, I realised these songs are so personal, they’re my thoughts, moods, and stories. I want to be the one to tell them. Even if it’s not perfect, I believe my voice carries the emotion more honestly than any flawless technique could. It’s not about perfection, it’s about authenticity. Having my daughter on backing vocals made this project truly special—her voice brings the story full circle,” Cap says.
The track’s polished production and soulful instrumentation are underpinned by a sense of nostalgia—echoing the timeless sounds of artists Cap grew up listening to. Influenced by 70s groups such as Steely Dan and Toto, as well as classical and soul music, Cap brings decades of musical influence into a contemporary setting.
As a songwriter, Cap focuses on themes of love, youth, and self-discovery—threaded with both emotional depth and a gentle sense of joy. Little Yellow Car is his third release of the year and a key step on the road to his debut album, which is scheduled for release in 2026.
