Judah & The Lion have unveiled their latest single, ‘Miracle,’ the latest preview of their forthcoming album I AM A PRISM, due for release on August 14 via Dualtone Records.
An uplifting and heartfelt anthem, ‘Miracle’ embraces the idea that life’s greatest gifts are often found in its quietest moments. Built around a rich, anthemic and blend of atmospheric reverbs and washing synths, using the driving guitars the pull the track fowards under the vocal melodies. Mostly no drums throughout, the track introduces subtle electronic kicks and hi-hats towards the end as the track flourishes into a stadium filling sound.
Thematically, ‘the track ‘Miracle’ captures a sense of gratitude and optimism that runs throughout the upcoming album I AM A PRISM. The album marks a significant chapter for the duo, reflecting on their journey through mental health struggles, heartbreak, addiction and grief before emerging with a renewed appreciation for community, resilience and the everyday moments that make life meaningful.
“I think ‘Miracle’ is just a beautiful representation of the stage of life that both of us are in right now,” says Judah & The Lion’s Brian Macdonald. “Especially with me having kids, miraculous is truly one of the only ways you can describe that feeling.”
“Some people think that a miracle has to be some big, dramatic event. But it’s like, what if a miracle is waking up in the morning?” adds Judah Akers. “What if the miracle is a cardinal showing up in your yard after your grandpa died? What if a miracle is the flowers growing? What if a miracle is being there for a buddy? It’s these types of small things. Especially with how negative the world is, let’s think about the things that are beautiful.”
Alongside the new release, Judah & The Lion have announced The Boys Are Back Tour, a nearly 40-date North American headline run that will bring the new album to audiences across the continent this autumn. The tour begins on September 17 at The Mill & Mine in Knoxville, Tennessee, before making stops at venues including Los Angeles’ Fonda Theatre and New York City’s Webster Hall. The run concludes on November 13 with a hometown finale at The Pinnacle in Nashville.
Over the course of their career, Judah & The Lion have amassed more than 900 million streams worldwide and scored a No. 1 radio hit with ‘Take It All Back.’ Their emotionally resonant songwriting has taken them from television appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Good Morning America to stages around the world.
For I AM A PRISM, Akers and Macdonald collaborated with Grammy-nominated producer, songwriter and composer Jeremy Lutito (NEEDTOBREATHE, Michigander, Wilder Woods), while acclaimed mixer Ryan Hewitt (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Oasis) helped shape the album’s expansive sound.
‘Miracle’ is available to stream now, with I AM A PRISM arriving on August 14 via Dualtone Records.
