Australia’s indie-dance renaissance is getting the celebration it deserves. This January, Foreverafter arrives in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, bringing together some of the defining names of Australian electronic music alongside a new generation of club innovators for a festival that traces two decades of dancefloor history.
Conceived and curated by The Presets, who will also co-headline the event, Foreverafter unites longtime collaborators and contemporaries Cut Copy, Ladyhawke, Bag Raiders, Bang Gang DJs and rising producer FUKHED for three massive outdoor shows that promise equal parts nostalgia and forward momentum.
The Presets remain one of Australia’s most influential electronic acts. Since breaking through with the multi-platinum Apocalypso, Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes have consistently blurred the boundaries between rock and dance music, earning seven ARIA Awards while building a reputation for explosive live performances across festivals from Glastonbury to Coachella.
Joining them are fellow Modular alumni Cut Copy, whose landmark albums In Ghost Colours and Zonoscope helped define an era where indie guitars and electronic production collided. More than two decades into their career, the Melbourne outfit continue to evolve, most recently with 2025’s Moments, proving their melodic, emotionally rich dance music has lost none of its appeal.
Also returning is Ladyhawke, whose self-titled debut became one of the defining electro-pop records of the late 2000s. Tracks including My Delirium, Paris Is Burning and Dusk Till Dawn remain staples of dancefloors and festival sets, while recent years have seen Pip Brown continue refining her infectious blend of synth-pop and rock.
Representing Sydney’s electronic legacy are Bag Raiders, whose catalogue extends well beyond the immortal Shooting Stars. The Grammy-nominated duo have amassed billions of streams while continuing to bridge underground club culture and crossover pop, with classics like Sunlight and a steady stream of collaborations keeping them firmly embedded in Australia’s dance music landscape.
The lineup also welcomes Bang Gang DJs, the legendary Sydney collective whose parties helped define Australia’s electroclash explosion in the early 2000s. Sharing stages with the likes of Daft Punk, Justice and James Murphy while cultivating one of the country’s most influential club brands, their return reinforces Foreverafter’s celebration of a scene that reshaped Australian nightlife.
Balancing that legacy is FUKHED, one of Australia’s fastest-rising electronic artists. The Brisbane-born, Sydney-based producer has become renowned for relentless techno sets and industrial-edged productions, bringing a contemporary energy that connects the festival’s celebrated past with the future of Australian club music.
