Lala Vale returns with ‘Just Another Me’, an emotionally arresting new single that serves as the flagship release from her forthcoming full-length album, due later this year.
Blending elements of alternative-pop, indie, a Fleetwood Mac-esque classic-rock undertone and her unmistakably smoky alto, Vale turns the complexities of love into something intimate, atmospheric and deeply unsettling.
At its core, ‘Just Another Me’ confronts one of the most uncomfortable contradictions of human emotion: the experience of loving two people at once. Moody electric guitars, a pulsing bassline and restrained yet powerful production create a sense of tension that runs beneath the song from beginning to end. There is a cinematic quality to the arrangement, but its emotional centre remains close and personal, giving the track the feel of both a late-night confession and an internal monologue.
The result is a haunting alternative pop ballad that refuses to resolve its central conflict neatly. Instead, Vale allows the listener to sit with the uncertainty, guilt and emotional disorientation that accompany an impossible choice.

“‘Just Another Me explores the emotional split of loving two people at the same time and being torn between two loves, facing a deep inner battle and an impossible choice,” Lala explains. “Sometimes, what may appear on the surface as selfish and reckless is far more complex. This decision carries a heavy weight of overthinking, pain, and guilt, and can slowly drive someone to lose his mind and himself.”
‘Just Another Me’ is less interested in presenting divided affection as a simple moral dilemma than in examining what happens internally when love, guilt, identity and self-worth become impossible to separate. The driving rhythm section suggests a mind that cannot settle, while the understated guitar work creates space for Vale’s vocal to carry the emotional weight.
Her performance is particularly effective because she resists the temptation to overplay the drama. There is vulnerability in the smoky grain of her voice, but also a sense of restraint, allowing the song’s emotional tension to accumulate rather than explode. As the arrangement develops, its atmosphere becomes increasingly immersive, drawing the listener deeper into the conflict at the centre of the story.
The single provides an intriguing first glimpse into Vale’s forthcoming album, a collection shaped by what she describes as her “mosaic-like personality”.
