Lizzy McAlpine has announced an Australian tour, she will bringing the latest chapter of a career that has moved remarkably quickly from bedroom recordings to international stages down under next year.
The Philadelphia-born singer-songwriter first built an audience by uploading original songs and covers to SoundCloud and YouTube before releasing debut album Give Me a Minute in 2020. Two years later, Five Seconds Flat pushed things considerably further, with ‘Ceilings’ becoming a viral hit and giving McAlpine her first appearance on the Billboard Hot 100.
Her songwriting has always resisted sitting neatly in one box. Indie pop and folk provide the foundations, but jazz, R&B and bedroom pop have all found their way into her music. That flexibility has also made her a natural collaborator, with a list that includes Jacob Collier, Dodie, Noah Kahan, John Mayer, Niall Horan and Finneas.
McAlpine followed Five Seconds Flat with Older in 2024, later expanding the record with five additional tracks on Older (and Wiser). Her fourth album, Angel, arrived in 2026, giving the forthcoming Australian shows another sizeable collection of songs to draw from.
Music has not been her only focus. In 2025, McAlpine made the jump to Broadway, appearing as Nellie Collins opposite Jeremy Jordan in Floyd Collins, another unexpected turn in a career that has continued to broaden beyond the singer-songwriter world where it began.
For Australian audiences, the tour will offer the chance to see where McAlpine has landed after several years of rapid change, from the intimate songwriting that first drew listeners in to the broader musical world she is building around Angel.
