News: Scottish Singer-Songwriter Pat Hamilton Returns With Third Single ‘See You Round’

Scottish singer-songwriter Pat Hamilton returns today with his third single, ‘See You Round’, an emotionally candid exploration of homesickness, belonging and the bittersweet pull of home. Reflecting on the confusion of leaving familiar surroundings to begin again somewhere new, the track captures the longing for places and people that remain close, even when distance makes them feel momentarily out of reach.

Following the release of ‘Love?’, a stripped-back, lyric-led offering exploring the blurred territory between heartbreak and new love, Hamilton turns his attention to the emotional weight of leaving home. Both singles sit within a wider narrative of change and uncertainty, with ‘See You Round’ revealing the Scottish artist’s desire for the familiarity and comfort of the place he calls home. Opening with a series of searching questions, the track captures the conflicting emotions of missing home while navigating the prospect of starting afresh alone. As the instrumentation builds into an anthemic chorus, its repeated refrain mirrors the circular nature of Hamilton’s thoughts, returning time and again to the people, places and everyday comforts he has left behind. The result is a poignant reflection on the kind of nostalgia that never quite fades.

Speaking about the personal experience behind the single, Hamilton explains:

“Based on a breakdown I had at Gate 12C of Edinburgh Airport, ‘See You ‘Round’ is a song I wrote about longing to stay in Scotland after a brief return from my adopted home of Bologna, Italy – where I was studying. Living in a foreign country, navigating a new city, and speaking a different language – all while trying to progress academically – were intense pressures that had taken a toll on me. Thus, when I came home to the people, places, and familiar culture of my hometown for the holidays, I gained a new appreciation of its value. Alas, notwithstanding a renewed love of my home life, the time came for me to tear myself from it and get back on a plane to Italy. This song documents the true, unfiltered, and plainly raw sadness I felt in doing so.”

‘See You Round’ arrives following a significant period of momentum for the young Scottish artist. Hamilton has already secured multiple sold-out headline shows, opened the BBC Introducing Stage at TRNSMT aged just 19, and amassed more than 1.4 million streams for his debut album, ‘To Whom It May Concern’.

Drawing inspiration from the likes of Ed Sheeran, Justin Timberlake and Joshua Slone, Hamilton brings together the intimacy of acoustic singer-songwriter music with contemporary pop, R&B and country influences. Underpinned by intricate lyricism and memorable melodies, his evolving sound has helped him build a devoted and rapidly expanding audience, while attracting consistent support from national and international radio.

His live profile has continued to grow throughout 2026, with Hamilton opening for Maroon 5 at BST Hyde Park before joining Finn Forster on his UK headline tour. September also marked another milestone, as he embarked on his first-ever headline tour across the UK and Ireland, taking his music to audiences nationwide.

Following the singles release, Hamilton will play his biggest headline show to date at Glasgow’s St Luke’s on Friday 9 April 2027. Tickets go on sale Tuesday 10 November 2026.
