OK, OK, the timing wasn’t absolutely spot on, but lovers of anthemic pure pop were surely tickled of tastebud when The Lottery Winners released their self-titled first album right as the virus tore through.

That didn’t stop ’em; vocalist and guitarist Thom Rylance, bassist and vocalist Katie Lloyd, guitarist Robert Lally and drummer Joe Singleton kept going from theirGreater Manchester, they continued to fill the world with their own brand of musical colour with online performances, events and new releases.

And today they’re going for the full-on, sunshine festival anthem of “Times Are Changing”, the first single from their freshly announced second album, Something To Leave The House For; a soundtrack to hugging old friends, the rebirth of live music and festivals, festivals, festivals … more of which below.

“If something so bleak and harrowing can hit us all, totally out of the blue, and change our lives, then by definition that must mean that something beautiful can too,” says Katie, reflective but ready to party.

Their new album, 14 tracks in all, is due on Modern Sky UK on Friday, September 24th, and promises to document the tumultuous times and the path back from despair in optimistic, radio-friendly pop.

Oh yeah … festivals? Well, the four-piece have a rescheduled UK tour to look forward to in the autumn, which now comes both bookended by and peppered with festival appearances pretty much the length and breadth of it, as they say. The full itinerary is as follows:
