News: Loyle Carner’s hopefully ! Explores Fatherhood, Light & Reinvention

British artist Loyle Carner has announced the release of his fourth studio album, hopefully !, landing June 20 via Island EMI. The record arrives as Carner’s boldest and most personal work yet, blending themes of fatherhood, childhood, and reinvention, and marks a series of creative firsts—including singing, producing, and forming his dream band.

The announcement comes ahead of his headline slot on Glastonbury’s Other Stage (June 27), with a world tour to follow. Australian fans will see Carner return this December, with shows confirmed in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth. Tickets go on sale April 30 at 9am local time.

The album was introduced with two surprise tracks, “all i need / in my mind,” offering a glimpse into a softer, brighter side of Carner’s artistry—one shaped by the birth of his son, who appears both visually and audibly throughout the record.

Carner’s decade-long evolution—from 2013’s A Little Late EP through 2017’s Mercury-nominated Yesterday’s Gone, 2019’s soulful Not Waving, but Drowning, and 2022’s politically charged hugo—has earned him a global following, 1.1 billion streams, and sold-out shows across major venues including Royal Albert Hall and Wembley Arena.

Beyond music, Carner continues to break ground. He recently received an honorary doctorate from UAL, co-founded the dyslexia and ADHD-focused cookery initiative Chilli Con Carner, and is set to make his acting debut in BBC drama Mint, from Scrapper director Charlotte Regan.

A decade into his career, Carner’s voice is more vital than ever—personal, poetic, and pushing forward.
