More than a decade after ‘Classic’ became impossible to escape, MKTO are heading back to Australia and New Zealand for their biggest regional run in years. After sold out return shows in Sydney and Melbourne throughout 2025, Malcolm Kelley and Tony Oller have now announced a full national tour for September, expanding beyond the east coast and revisiting cities they haven’t played in over a decade.
Presented by Teamwrk Touring and MRG Live, the tour will see the duo perform in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Newcastle, Adelaide and Perth, alongside a New Zealand stop that continues the pair’s long-running connection with Australasian audiences. For a generation who grew up with ‘Classic’, ‘Thank You’ and ‘American Dream’ permanently lodged somewhere in their iTunes libraries, the announcement feels timed perfectly for the current wave of early-2010s pop nostalgia sweeping back through live music.
When MKTO first landed in Australia in the early 2010s, their mix of pop hooks, R&B polish and sitcom-friendly charisma arrived at exactly the right cultural moment. ‘Thank You’ quickly became a major ARIA hit before ‘Classic’ exploded globally, turning the duo into unlikely chart mainstays whose songs soundtracked school formals, house parties and shopping centre speaker systems in equal measure.
Since their last Australian visit, Kelley and Oller have continued rebuilding momentum in North America, sharing stages with artists including The Kid Laroi and 2 Chainz while reconnecting with fans through a renewed live focus. The chemistry between the pair still sits at the centre of the project, and recent performances have leaned into the energy and looseness that originally made them stand out amongst the polished pop landscape of the 2010s.
