News: Modern Haze Bring 00’s Indie Vibes On ‘Kitchen Party’

Cambridge indie-rockers Modern Haze are making their latest mark on the local scene with ‘Kitchen Party’, an anthemic new single that captures the freedom, energy and nostalgia of youth.

Drawing on the infectious spirit of early 00s indie rock, Modern Haze deliver a track packed with biting guitars, bouncing bass and punchy drums. ‘Kitchen Party’ channels the raw energy of their live performances while showcasing the band’s melodic songwriting and reflective lyricism.

At its heart, the track is a celebration of those unforgettable nights where carefully made plans quickly disappear, strangers become friends and the most memorable moments unfold in the most unexpected places. There is a familiar sense of chaos running through the song, but it is matched by a warmth and nostalgia that makes ‘Kitchen Party’ feel both immediate and deeply relatable.

Speaking about the track, frontman Jack explains: “It’s a bit of a trip down memory lane for me, going to parties, meeting new people and having a sore head in the morning. Kitchen Party is about that universal experience where the best moments happen in the most unexpected, crowded spaces. It’s a celebration of youth, freedom, and living entirely in the moment.”

Inspired by the likes of Kings of Leon, The Vaccines and Arctic Monkeys, Modern Haze occupy a space between the ethereal and the gritty, combining melodic textures and powerful lyrics with the restless pulse of a band built for the stage. Their music explores current issues, love and a burning desire for more, all delivered with the kind of energy that has already made their live shows a key part of their growing reputation.

The band have also begun building early press support, including coverage from ASBO Magazine, while headlining shows across East Anglia and London. Their live credentials extend to Festival Too, Europe’s largest free festival, further underlining the momentum gathering around the Cambridge outfit.

With ‘Kitchen Party’ offering a vivid snapshot of their sound and more new music on the horizon, Modern Haze are continuing to establish themselves as a band to watch, bringing an unapologetically energetic take on indie rock to audiences both close to home and further afield.
