Canadian rock heavyweights Nickelback are heading back to Australia in October 2027, bringing their Everything Under The Sun Tour to six cities and the Hunter Valley, with British rock outfit Don Broco along for the ride.
The Australian run kicks off at Perth’s RAC Arena on 2 October before heading to Adelaide, Melbourne, Geelong, Brisbane and Sydney, wrapping up in the Hunter Valley on 16 October. It’s part of a sprawling global arena tour that takes in North America, the UK and Europe before landing Down Under.
The announcement comes ahead of Nickelback’s eleventh studio album, Everything Under The Sun, due 30 October via Virgin Music Group. The record follows 2022’s Get Rollin’ and finds the band moving between the muscular guitar rock that made them household names and more introspective territory.
Lead single Rattle The Cage, featuring guitarist John 5, has already reached number one on US Active Rock radio, while Leave Me Behind and Make Me Love You offer a different side of the forthcoming record. More than three decades into their career, Nickelback clearly aren’t interested in slowing down.
Formed in Hanna, Alberta, Nickelback have become one of modern rock’s most commercially successful and enduring bands. The current line-up of Chad Kroeger, Ryan Peake, Mike Kroeger and Daniel Adair has built a catalogue that includes How You Remind Me, Photograph, Someday, Far Away, Rockstar, Animals, Gotta Be Somebody, If Today Was Your Last Day and Burn It to the Ground. With nearly 65 million albums sold worldwide and billions of streams, their songs remain fixtures of rock radio more than three decades after the band’s formation.
Their achievements extend well beyond record sales. RIAA Diamond-certified, Grammy-nominated and inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, Nickelback occupy a curious position in popular culture: frequently criticised, endlessly debated and still capable of filling arenas around the world. Their Netflix documentary Hate to Love: Nickelbackexamines that complicated relationship with fame, while their Get Rollin’ World Tour became the fastest-selling and highest-attended of their career.
Joining them are Don Broco, the Bedford four-piece whose collision of alternative rock, metal, post-hardcore and electronic music has earned them a formidable live reputation. The pairing isn’t entirely unexpected, with Nickelback recently collaborating on Nightmare Tripping, the title track from Don Broco’s latest album.
For Australian audiences, the tour brings together two bands with distinctly different approaches to modern rock, from Nickelback’s arena-ready hooks to Don Broco’s restless genre-hopping. With a new album on the way and a catalogue stretching back more than three decades, Nickelback have plenty of material to draw from when they return next October.
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday 16 October at 10am local time.
