News: Rise Against, Wolf Alice, James Blake and more announced for Sydney Opera House On The Steps 2026

Sydney Opera House is throwing open the Forecourt again this December, with the first wave of On The Steps 2026 revealing a lineup that jumps gleefully between punk, indie, electronic music, hip-hop, country and metal.

The first announcement brings Rise Against, James Blake, DMA’S, Wolf Alice, Dizzee Rascal, Dylan Gossett, Spacey Jane and The Amity Affliction to one of Sydney’s most spectacular outdoor stages, with each artist appearing as part of the summer concert series.

It is a deliberately broad first hand. Rise Against bring decades of politically charged punk rock, while The Amity Affliction represent the considerably heavier end of the equation. Australian indie gets two sizeable entries through DMA’S and Spacey Jane, both bands now well accustomed to playing to crowds of this scale.

Wolf Alice arrive with their shape-shifting collision of indie rock, shoegaze and pop, while James Blake offers something altogether different, bringing his sparse electronics and unmistakable voice to the harbour. Dizzee Rascal adds grime royalty to the mix, and fast-rising American singer-songwriter Dylan Gossett rounds out a lineup that refuses to settle into any particular lane.

There is also some good news for anyone who missed out the first time around. With capacity on the Opera House Forecourt increased for 2026, additional tickets have been released for previously sold-out On The Steps shows.

And this isn’t the finished picture, more On The Steps announcements are still to come, leaving plenty of blank space on the December calendar.
