News: Shannon Darcy Releases Debut EP ‘Just Worried Because’

Essex-born pop-punk singer-songwriter Shannon Darcy is making a striking first impression with the release of her debut EP, Just Worried Because

A evocative blend of noughties angst and contemporary honesty, the six-track record showcases the influence of early Paramore and Avril Lavigne through emotive, high octane soundscapes. Just Worried Because is both an ode to the music that shaped her and a fearless statement of self. It swings between roaring, rebellious explosions of pop-punk to intimate ballads that simmer with vulnerability, revealing a songwriter with remarkable range and emotional depth.

Diving into the project, she explains, “I’m so excited to announce that I’m finally releasing my very own EP! This has been in the works for a while and honestly, I’m just buzzing to share it with everyone. I wanted this to consist of a sound and a vibe that relates to each and every aspect of who I am, and I feel that this EP tells a story from start to finish.”

From the urgent, guitar-charged title track, to the cathartic ballad closer ‘Easier Said Than Done’, Darcy offers a candid reflection on anxiety, identity, and resilience. Her lyrics cut with the precision of a poet and the passion of someone who’s lived every word—delivering toplines that hit with both emotional clarity and sing-along immediacy.
