News: shugE Resurfaces With Emotionally Charged Single ‘With Me’ & Reflects On A Decade-Long Hiatus In Latest Album ‘DARK WINTER’

Minneapolis-based songwriter and performer shugE has recently unveiled his latest single, ‘With Me,’ a poignant and vulnerable track that showcases his vocal and acoustic guitar prowess. The artist bares his soul through emotional lyricism and a passionate performance, creating a defenseless dance between man and instrument. The song’s ebb and flow are enhanced with additional instrumental harmony and drums, weaving rich yet soft arrangements to solidify poignant moments.

In a candid insight into the track, shugE shares, “The song ‘With Me’ and the new album it is on titled ‘DARK WINTER’ is the ultimate culmination of my roller-coaster of a life as a musician – why I disappeared for a decade and why I am back at it. I would really love for your listeners to get to experience this song and album with me.”

Hailing from Minneapolis, shugE returned from a nearly decade-long hiatus in 2022, unveiling the album ‘first winter,’ a project that resonated throughout the Twin Cities. Last April, shugE released a live EP, touring the country multiple times while diligently working on his next major album project, ‘DARK WINTER.’

Before his hiatus, shugE had been a creative force as both a solo artist and the frontman for SORRY OK and Hayduke Lives. Touring extensively and releasing numerous albums, he garnered support from independent and college radio stations across North America, fostering a loyal fanbase. Sharing stages with numerous musicians, shugE became a flagship artist signed to the Minneapolis-based independent label Anti-Civ Records and was prominently featured in the 2008 documentary about Anti-Civ Records and the Minneapolis warehouse venue managed by the label.
