Five years since they last graced our shores, The Flaming Lips—the beloved architects of psychedelic wonder—are making their return to Australia. Come early 2025, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane will play host to a series of shows that promise to be nothing short of transcendent.

In a tour that speaks directly to the hearts of die-hard fans, The Flaming Lips will perform their seminal 2002 album ‘Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots’ in its entirety, alongside a handpicked selection of cult classics from their expansive and genre-defying discography. This isn’t just another tour—it’s an invitation to immerse yourself in the full, unfiltered experience of one of alternative music’s most inventive forces.

Marking its 20th anniversary in 2022, ‘Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots’ endures as a touchstone in the alt-rock canon—a record that not only defined an era but also solidified The Flaming Lips’ place as boundary-pushing visionaries. With its release, the GRAMMY® award-winning band transcended their own mythos, earning their first RIAA Gold certification. This album, a follow-up to 1999’s critically adored ‘The Soft Bulletin,’ was the moment Wayne Coyne and Steven Drozd proved they had more than just another album in them—they had a masterpiece that would echo through the years, reshaping the landscape of alternative music.

Born in the heart of Oklahoma City back in 1983, The Flaming Lips have evolved into one of alternative rock’s most iconic and unpredictable forces—a band that has not just survived but thrived in the shifting tides of music history. With three GRAMMY® Awards under their belt and a Tony nomination to boot, they’ve cemented their legacy as innovators who continually push the envelope. UK’s Q Magazine even hailed them as one of the “50 Bands to See Before You Die,” a testament to their electrifying live performances that blur the lines between concert and cosmic experience.
