Blending of fuzzy surf post-punk with infectious indie-pop melodies, The Gloomies, spearheaded by the talented Andrew Craig, are back with their moody, yet warmingly lo-fi and accessible new single, ‘Cave’, featuring Big Red Roses.

Emerging from the depths of their creative minds, ‘Cave’, featuring the ethereal vocals of Big Red Roses is a true musical experience. The track, a preview from their upcoming album ‘Slime and the Stems’, takes listeners on a sonic journey through dirty loops and layered guitar samples, blurring the lines between reality and imagination. With its loop-based groove and hypnotic melody, “Cave” stands as a testament to The Gloomies’ evolution as artists.

Reflecting on the genesis of ‘Cave’, Andrew Craig shares, “The song emerged from a spontaneous rewrite, transforming into a pivotal focal point that shaped the entire record. Its loop-based groove and layered guitar samples defined its sound. In just 30 minutes, ‘Cave’ was born from a new melody, leading me to scrap the original idea.”

Since their debut single ‘LSD’ in 2015, The Gloomies have garnered acclaim from both fans and critics alike, earning the coveted title of “Buzz band of the week” on NME. Hailing from a small coastal town, the band draws inspiration from the sea and sun, infusing their music with a poetic quality and intricate, mature song-craft.
